Romance Sub-genre(s): Christian / Paranormal Romance
Steam Level: Pretty low. I have teenage characters, so I have one scene where the lights fade out (no sexual contact), and scenes of them kissing. That’s it.

Describe yourself in three words.
Brave, weird, kind
What are three fun facts about you?
I am a homeschool mom.
My favorite bands are Korn and the Cure, and they inspired my book.
I love mushroom coffee.
What do you do for fun when you aren’t writing?
I love to go to the local botanic gardens and be in nature.
How did you discover writing as a possible career?
I have always loved reading. I used writing as a way to cope with life trials as a teen. I began writing my book when I left a cult in 2019. My book, though a paranormal romance, is supposed to bring healing / awareness for teen mental health issues. I still use writing as a vessel of hope for life.
How did you choose your pen name?
When I left the cult I was in, one person called me a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Plus, my legal name, Ochoa, means wolf. I decided to play on the slander given to and reclaim my name with power, thus making it Danielle Wolfe.
Where do you find inspiration for your stories?
My love for vampires and God inspire my stories. I’ve always been intrigued by the paranormal and how religion ties into it at times. I also write from my own personal experiences. Though I have never joined a vampire cult like my main character, many of her struggles are similar to my own.
What trope is your favorite to write?
Forbidden love. I have always loved the aspect that it isn’t “allowed” but it is destined to be anyways.
What is your favorite thing about being an author?
The ability to imagine! Being creative makes life so much more fun!
What is your writing process?
Listening to music or thinking about my own life experiences. Since I am a mom, I have to be very rigid. I will think or imagine on things that inspire me throughout the day and when my kids are asleep, I’m writing! Or binge-watching vampire shows.
What time of day are you most creative?
The early morning.
What is your ideal writing environment?
I would say a coffee shop with my headphones in and music on!
As an author, what challenges do you face?
My main challenge is lack of time or flexibility to write. Currently, in my life, I am juggling many things as a mom, homeschooler, and writer.
What is your least favorite part of being an author?
Grammar!
If there was one thing you could change about the writing/publishing industry, what would it be?
I currently am not sure about what I would change concerning it.
What advice would you give aspiring authors?
That you don’t put restrictions on how you are supposed to write. Let inspiration take you on a journey! You don’t have to write every day, just be inspired every day, and let the writing flow.
What is something you’d like to write, but haven’t yet?
I really want to write a Wuthering Heights retelling. I want to mix the story with vampires and mental health topics.
Which parts of yourself are reflected in your characters?
My main character struggles with self-harm and suicidal ideation. She eventually overcomes this. She also is very brave and puts herself in risky situations that ultimately bring her to healing.
Which of your characters have special meaning to you?
I love my main character’s best friend, Elise. She is a reflection of one of my best friends from high school that I lost due to unfortunate circumstances. Part of my book and the character is a tribute to her.
How do you come up with character names?
Some are simply what came up first. Some I had to play around with.
What is something you love to hear from your readers?
I would love to hear how my book helped them in their everyday life. How it transformed the way they view life, or God. I would love to hear that it helped them with their own mental health struggles.
When you read, which authors are your go-to authors?
Ellen Schrieber. I love her series, Vampire Kisses. I love any tween vampire romance!

I have a website! https://daniellewolfebooks.com/
I also have an Instagram and TikTok - @daniellewolfebooks
