How did you discover writing as a possible career?
I kind of fell into it. I just really wanted to share my stories.
How did you choose your pen name?
My middle name and a play on my grandma's maiden name.
Where do you find inspiration for your stories?
Everywhere. Songs, stories. All of it.
What is the weirdest fact you've found when researching for a book?
How to make grenades explode.
What trope is your favorite to write?
Murder mystery
What is your favorite thing about being an author?
I love sharing my stories with others.
What is your writing process?
I'm a planster. I loosely map out then let the characters take over.
What time of day are you most creative?
Early morning
What is your ideal writing environment?
Light music, candy to snack on, coffee to drink, and dog at my feet.
As an author, what challenges do you face?
Finding the time to do all the other things related to publishing.
What is your least favorite part of being an author?
Editing
If there was one thing you could change about the writing/publishing industry, what would it be?
Making it easier on the author. And more affordable.
What advice would you give aspiring authors?
Always pay for an editor. An editor is worth their weight in gold.
What is something you’d like to write, but haven’t yet?
A historical fiction based on the Princes in the Tower.
Which parts of yourself are reflected in your characters?
Usually, their bravery and kindness.
Which of your characters have special meaning to you?
They all do, but Regan and Veronica are my girls.
How do you come up with character names?
I keep a list of all the names I have heard and pick off that.
What kind of readers enjoy your books?
My ideal reader is one who loves a good mystery, fun characters, easy reads, and doesn't mind a romantic subplot.
What is something you love to hear from your readers?
How the characters make them feel. Whether they truly connected with them or not.
