Kind - sarcastic - creative
What are three facts about you?
1. I am a boy mom ( 3 wild crazy boys that keep me busy and crazy)
2. I love do new things, BUT I am very shy about doing new things.
3. I can quote most Disney Movies.
What is your favorite book from childhood?
Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
When you read, which authors are your go-to authors?
Nora Roberts
Charlotte Chaos
Delilah Synn
Jennika Snow
What book has made the biggest impact on your life?
Honest Illusions by Nora Roberts- I became trauma bonded to it, and it really helped me though some issues. I became a huge fan of Nora after that, and I only read her for many years. I have since spread my wings and found others.
Do you have any book related tattoos?
No, but I want some.
What is your favorite TV show or movie?
I watch this group from Patreon called Regulation Podcast. They do videos almost every day of gaming and other content. My husband and I really love sitting and watching or listening to them just reek havoc.
What subject could you talk about all day?
Books. All Books. I love books.
What is your dream vacation destination?
Boonsboro, Maryland- Nora Roberts has her own bookstore and Inn there that I would love to stay at and go to.
What do you do for fun when you aren’t writing?
Spending time with my boys.
Are there any causes you support or which are important to you?
Children's Cancer research. My brother died when we were children of Neuroblastoma, so far there is only one child that has made it past their teens I believe with this cancer. I would love to see more children survive.
How did you discover writing as a possible career?
Migraine induced thoughts, that just came out. Then had support from friends and let all my thought go wild.
How did you choose your pen name?
I had a short list of names and out of all of them I loved these two together.
Where do you find inspiration for your stories?
Everyday life / and Hallmark life for my Midwestern series.
Disney and Fairytales for my Fablehollow.
What is the weirdest fact you've found when researching for a book?
The gestation period for a fox is only 52 days. Babies are called Kits and there are usually 4-6 in a litter.
What trope is your favorite to write?
Found Family
What is your favorite thing about being an author?
Finding new ways to write stories.
What is your writing process?
Chaos. Seriously, my brain will go from one story to another, then oh I have an idea for that one again. I have very detailed story matrix or bibles, whatever you want to call them. I would be lost without it. All my books also have different notebooks for my notes if I am not by my computer.
What time of day are you most creative?
All day
What is your ideal writing environment?
My office with my 90's /00's pop mix playing and my cats on my lap.
As an author, what challenges do you face?
Promoting and being seen. Character art is another big one. Everyone is doing it and readers want it. I love that. I want to give that to you. Unfortunately, I can't afford it though.
What is your least favorite part of being an author?
Everything is a pick and choose. What site should I do my newsletter through? Where should I put my books? Oh, they have AI, but this one doesn’t. This week they are accepting this, but now they are not. It’s hard to keep up some days.
If there was one thing you could change about the writing/publishing industry, what would it be?
Honestly, I don't know enough to answer that. Maybe in a year or so I can give a better answer.
What advice would you give aspiring authors?
Find a Discord with authors that can help you when you are first starting out. That way you are not too far in and making the wrong moves.
What is something you’d like to write, but haven’t yet?
Reverse Harem and or same sex relationships. I am trying to figure out an asexual relationship storyline, but I want it to feel authentic. I don't want to put something out that would feel hurtful or harmful to others.
Which parts of yourself are reflected in your characters?
Every character is a reflection of either me or my husband. There is a part of us in each couple so far.
Which of your characters have special meaning to you?
Nora and Beau. They were my first, and a lot of them is how my husband and I were when we met. A lot of their wedding book is how our wedding went too. - Nora I named after Nora Roberts.
How do you come up with character names?
For Fablehollow, I try to riff off of the story I am adapting from. First book was just Belle and Adam but the second book was Ella and Percy. Midwestern, I took names that are common in the Midwest, I wanted it to feel authentic in that way.
What kind of readers enjoy your books?
Fablehollow books are quick reads I think the longest one is maybe 100 pages (so far). Midwestern Year are longer more in the novella to novel range. I try to world build as much as I can but sometimes I get to excited for the next part and I forget.
What is something you love to hear from your readers?
I love feedback honestly. If you can't get into the story tell me why. The only way I can learn to grow as a writer is to know what I am doing wrong. What I tell my kids; Don't give me an ice cream cone. Yes, its nice, but it's going to melt and its not helpful.
